Went to Venice today to follow my passion for glass. Was amazed to find the cost of a return ticket to Murano was $50 Australian dollars.
Really!

Decided to forget Murano and just walk around and enjoy. Pickpockets stole my cash and cards, joined a queue of 6 at the caribinere to report the theft, they seemed to accept the theft as just a normal event.

I won’t be back.

Dear Peter,

What a horrible experience you must have. Thanks for sharing. I think the AD$50 includes a visit to a glass museum and a tour, maybe? This ticket would be a nice trip, but for €9 (15$AD), there is also just a ticket for the vaporetti boat line to Murano. When visiting the island, you can see glass sculptures, and there are free visits to glass factories and demonstrations.
Hopefully, one day you will come back.
