Is visiting Venice Italy, on your bucket list? Read on this page the feeling you get when you enjoy the city and visit Venice.

Every time you come back to Venice, you enjoy every corner of the city. The rich history. You feel it in everything. Roaming the streets, away from the packed route of the Rialto Bridge to San Marco square.

Visiting Venice Italy is great!

Venice isn't just a city; it's a tapestry of history, art, and culture woven together over centuries. Each visit to Venice invites you to uncover its many layers. As you wander through the labyrinthine streets, every corner of the city unfolds a new chapter of its rich history. The city's past resonates around you, from the grandeur of its architecture to the gentle lap of the canals against the gondolas.

Then you will discover new squares, corners, and bars where you can spend the afternoon just fine. Where you can enjoy a delicious lunch together with the people of the city. Especially lovely with the people who work there.

You'll discover the real Venice by stepping away from the well-trodden path that connects the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. It's in these quieter streets and lesser-known canals that the city reveals its true character. Here, away from the crowds, you can truly feel the pulse of Venice. The murmur of the locals, the scent of authentic Venetian cuisine wafting through the air, and the timeless beauty of its hidden piazzas and bridges all combine to create an enchanting atmosphere.

Totally cool when you start talking to the residents of the city. They can usually be recognized by their older age;). Just do it!

Venice is, in fact, rapidly depopulating. Houses are bought by wealthy Italians and foreigners who want to make a good impression with a second home in this old town.

Visiting Venice Italy is not something you do just like that. History has made the city. You can still see in Venice that a massive decline has taken place over many years. It seems as if time has stood still for a long time in Venice when you visit Venice Italy, the historic city of water.

You have a palazzo in...

...an outdoor museum

Improvements and repairs are taking place everywhere along the Grand Canal, the main route through the city. But walking through the city, you can see the decay and some pieces of absolute neglect. You feel the suffering and the history of the looting and destruction that took place. Visiting Venice Italy, 150 years ago was very different from what it is now.

The magic of Venice lies in these moments of serenity. Imagine sipping a coffee in a quaint café as you watch life unfold on a small canal or stumbling upon a centuries-old church filled with artworks that have silently witnessed the passage of time. Every step in Venice is a step through history, with stories etched in its stones and whispered by the breeze that drifts through its alleyways.

Hatred and jealousy have brought the city to the brink of the abyss. Fortunately, in addition to the subsidies, the flow of tourists brings in enough money to save the city from destruction.

And those tourists go...

...Visiting Venice Italy, during the Carnival

Despite the complaints of the inhabitants, tourism is badly needed. The return of the masks (source: book Olga Dol) has also contributed to the increase of tourists visiting Venice Italy. Originally the masks were for portraying types and characters, then used to avoid being recognized. Now it has become a great spectacle during the world-famous Carnival in Venice.

Visiting Venice Italy, during the days of the Carnival is a fantastic experience. In the ten days before the Carnival, there is no hotel room in the city left. Life in the period is then surrounded by many masked parties.

The most hotspot to enjoy the Venetian parade is in front of the San Marco. There you will find the most beautiful traditional catwalk of Venetian historical clothes. Usually masked but occasionally only dressed in the fashion of the bygone days of the Doges.

In the first weeks during Carnival, there are parades of the residents of Venice and the immediate area around it. They have made the most beautiful creations and want to show them to everyone.

Reading about Venice is one thing, but experiencing it is another. It's a city that needs to be felt, seen and heard. From the echoing footsteps on its cobblestone streets to the serene glide of a gondola through its waterways, Venice is an experience that stays with you long after you've left its shores.
